During his tenure at CERN, he was also associated with Fermilab for the commissioning of the FNAL Antiproton Sources in 1985 and 1986 and at the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he collaborated on Proton Storage Ring in 1989.

Beginning in 1985, with the completion of the Proton Storage Ring ( PSR ) that compresses proton pulses from 750 microseconds to a quarter of a microsecond, the Los Alamos Neutron Scattering Center ( LANSCE ), now known as the Lujan Center, was established while WNR was expanded to other spallation sources on the accelerator beam.

They were then injected into the proton synchrotron " DESY-III " and accelerated further to 7 GeV . Then they were transferred to PETRA where they were accelerated to 40 GeV . Finally, they were injected into their storage ring in the HERA tunnel and reached their final energy of 920 GeV . The proton storage ring used superconducting magnets to keep the protons on track.
